With the warmer weather arriving in style this week, it is a good time to remind parents to ensure their children have a water bottle each day as well as a sun cap of some description. School caps are available to purchase from the school office, however, these are not compulsory to buy. We do ask that children take off their hats and caps when inside the building, so please ensure the caps are named so they can be returned to their rightful owners if they should be misplaced.
This week Buddy and I had the pleasure of attending Fir class on their River Dipping trip on the River Cray. Both year 4 classes spent an afternoon with Jess from the South East Rivers Trust, exploring life on the river banks as well as life in the river itself. The children were once again a credit to our school and I was very impressed with the knowledge they could recall from their Geography and Science lessons. Well done Year 4, and thank you to the teachers for arranging a couple of fantastic afternoons with the South East Rivers Trust.
Y1 had a fantastic school trip to London to see the Cutty Sark in Greenwich. The children went on the old tea clipper to experience what life would have been like in the 17th century with lots of interactive activities. The children were amazing and represented our school perfectly. Thank you to the staff and parents for supporting the children on the visit.
The sporting success continues as a group of Y5 children came first and second at the Sportacus Sports Competition at the North West Kent College. Thank you to Mr Duffin and Mrs Senft for taking the teams there on the mini-bus and guiding them through the day to success.
After the bank holiday weekend, we will return to school on Tuesday, 6th May. The senior leadership team will be changing their gate duty locations. Mrs Wilson will be on the KS1 entrance with Mrs Arnold and Mrs Mills alternating on the EYFS gate. Mr Haylock and Buddy will be at the KS2 gate. This will be the case until the end of the summer term.
Enjoy the long weekend and hopefully we will hold onto the nicer weather for a bit longer.
