Focus Week - Year 2
We have had a very busy first week back! The children settled back quickly and have enjoyed planning and writing their own rhyming poems in English. In Maths, we have been learning to find and make half. We understand that in order for something to be split in half, it needs to be split into 2 equal sized parts.
In Science, we have prepared an experiment to see what things plants need in order to grow and survive. To do this, we planted 4 seeds. One seed will not have any warmth, one seed will not get any water, another seed will not get any light and the final one will get all of the above. We will observe the plants over time to see which ones begin to grow.
In Computing, we have started our new topic 'creating media - stop motion'. To begin this new topic, we made our own flipbooks to see how the process works.
Cedar class went on their amazing school trip to London Aquarium on Thursday. We saw lots of amazing things. The sun was shining as we had our lunch under the London Eye.
While Cedar were out, Chestnut entered a writing competition to get our stories published in a book! We had to design a crazy creature and write a story about how we would meet them. Our ideas were WILD
