We're so glad the icy weather has passed, and things are a little warmer! It's been another wonderfully busy week here at Poverest.
We're excited to share that this term, we have started a fantastic new partnership with Gro Health. They will be working with all our children in school right up until the Easter Holidays! This is a wonderful opportunity, fully funded by the Bromley Local Authority for all schools.
This week, we held an introductory assembly to explain that this program will help our children understand how to best look after themselves. It will cover how their bodies work, the importance of a healthy diet, and the benefits of good exercise. We believe this focus on health and wellbeing is incredibly valuable!
Our staff meeting this week was dedicated to making our lessons even more engaging for your children. We explored two incredible new resources: Inspire Education and Mosaik 3D.
These online resources allow our children to immerse themselves in 3D worlds and experiences. This is an exciting way to truly understand what life was like in the past and to visually grasp complex scientific and geographical concepts. We’re very enthusiastic about these tools and confident they will ensure a deeper, better understanding for every child.
You may be aware that the local authority has submitted a planning application to transform the Adult Education Centre site into 44 new homes. We fully appreciate the desperate need for homes for families in our community and have been in contact with the local authority.
They have listened carefully, and many of our initial concerns have been addressed in the plans. However, we still have concerns about the potential lack of parking provision and the impact this might have on neighbouring streets, especially on Tillingbourne Green, our current school street.
If you would like to offer your support or your suggestions for improvement based on any concerns you may have, the link to comment on the plans is below:

Next week, we will be hosting some special events to mark Blue Monday. This is about raising awareness of mental health on what is sometimes referred to as the year's most depressing day. Our children and staff will spend time simply talking, connecting, and understanding that genuine conversation and spending time together can be a powerful way to raise our mood and improve our collective well-being. Children can wear their own Blue clothes if they wish to or just attend in their Blue school uniform.
Have a wonderful weekend.
