Welcome to Willow Class.
Mrs Jones email@example.com is the class teacher and she is assisted by Mrs Reed and Mrs Gentleman. Mr Duffin is the P.E teacher and Mrs McDonald is the forest school teacher.
Our topics for the year are:
Autumn: Ourselves & Celebrations
Spring: People who help us & Growing
Summer: Houses & homes & Journeys
We enjoy going on regular school trips at Poverest to enhance the children's learning.
During the Spring term we look forward to having a different visitor each week as part of our people who help us topic including the Police, Firefighters, Doctors, Vets etc. To start our growing topic afterwards we will be visited by 'Animal Encounters' with a range of snakes, bearded dragons etc and we will also be visited by 'Coolings' who will plant seeds with the children.
Lastly, in the summer term we will have our famous 'Cinderella Ball' to end our houses and homes topic and then go on a journey for our Journeys topic.
More details will follow regarding our trips but we wanted to let you know in advance so you are aware.
Your child will chose the books (with you) that they want to read from a selection every Monday, Wednesday & Friday. They can select either one or two books from the baskets on each of these days. You just need to record in their reading records the title of the books that they have read and sign to say that you have looked at the book with them. You may also write any comments about what they liked about the book, any words that they were able to read etc. Every Friday a member of staff will sign the records also to show that they have read and responded to any comments that you have made. Please record on Saturday & Sunday any additional books that you have read at home
Every Thursday the home learning task will be put in the weekly news section on this page and a paper copy put in their homework book every Friday to be returned to school the following Friday. Your child will tell the class what they have done for their homework in small groups to practise their speaking and listening skills.
To encourage creativity you can decide how you present the homework (pictures, models, cooking, posters, songs etc) and please send any photos via class dojo and we will print them for you. If you have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to ask us.
Our school PE kit consists of blue/black shorts, a white t-shirt/polo shirt and plimsolls. In the winter, they may wear blue/black jogging bottoms and a blue/black jumper.
Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school every day as we may do extra activities throughout the week.
