The Meadow
Poverest Primary School are excited to announce the opening of our refurbished room ‘The Meadow’. As a team we have been working hard to raise awareness of the importance of nurture within school.
There is evidence that children’s learning is most effective when they have a sense of emotional well-being and positive self-esteem. The children will access The Meadow in small groups during the morning and afternoon. These sessions offer children the opportunity to re-visit early learning skills, promote and support their social and emotional development, while also helping them to develop in maturity and build resilience.
Each child will have a Boxall profile carried out by their class teacher to identify any obstacles to learning, which then allows us to identify which children would benefit from this intervention and allow the planning of effective interventions. These interventions last six to twelve weeks and will be modelled by Mrs Dale, Ms Banks and Miss Golding promoting positive relationships and the development of language.
Our Nurture provision is designed to bridge between home and school, replicating home, offering a safe, secure environment with a table to share for snack time, to play games and work collaboratively, role play area, a quiet area and a reading corner.
We are looking forward to welcoming the children and supporting them in their continued success.
