Oak - Year 6
Welcome to Oak Class.
Our class teacher is Mr Smith, who is supported by Mrs Carney and Miss Rixson.
Main Topics and Trips for 2022/2023
This year, Oak Class will learn about Earth Matters, The Ancient Greeks and Comparing people and places. You will find more information about how each topic is covered in our curriculum maps, which are at the bottom of this page.
Our trips for the year will be the Science Museum, British Museum and PGL for our residential stay.
Oak Weekly Timetable can be found at the bottom of the page, however it may change due to special events or changes in the calendar.
Physical Education (PE)
Our PE days are every Monday and Friday.
Your child needs to come into school wearing their PE kit, which consists of a plain t-shirt, plain joggers/shorts and a plain jumper. Trainers are also allowed. Your child will stay in their PE kit for the whole day.
Homework will be set every Friday, and will consist of a Mathletics task, set of spelling words (written and on Spelling Shed) and a writing task. Please return the homework on Thursday, so it can be checked.
Reading and Reading Records
We expect your child to read every day. Your child's reading record must be brought in every day to be signed. Reading is such an important part of your child's development so please prioritise this task.
Our Class Rewards
We have many rewards in Oak Class, which consists of:
Class dojo points, themed class points, raffle tickets every Friday and certificates every Friday.
To earn a raffle ticket, your child will move their name onto the reward image for showing us a behaviour or knowledge which is above our usual expectations.
Golden Globes will be given to the class when good behaviour is noticed by other adults around the school. At the end of the week, the winning class will receive extra break.
