I know that some of the Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 children will be going back to school today, and some of you might be feeling disappointed that you don’t get to go yet. I’m also missing you all loads, and can’t wait to get back to spending time with you and learning together at school, so I understand! Friday 27th March 2020

Good morning, Cedar Class!

Happy Friday! You’ve made it through your first week of home learning, and I am so proud of all of you! I’ve been amazed by all the fantastic hard work you’ve been doing at home, so well done! Today I’m going to give 5 Dojo points to everyone who tried some of our tasks this week! Good work, everyone!

Today is: Friday the 27th of March 2020. The short date is 27.3.20.

This is what we’re going to do today:

Phonics – Recap all the words for the week by reading through them all, and then have a go on Spelling Shed. If you’d like to, you can have a little spelling test and ask someone to help test you. Let me know how you do!

English - We are going to write what we think will happen next in the story. Where does the smaller man go after dropping the axe? What does he do? You can type your diary entry into the document and turn it in, or you can write it on a piece of paper and send me a photo.

Reading – A short comprehension test. Write the answers on a piece of paper and send me a photo if you like.

Maths – Our last lesson on fractions for the week. Write the answers on a piece of paper and send me a photo if you like.

RE – Today we are going to continue our learning about Islam by looking at the holy book of Islam, the Quran.

Go onto Google Classroom and click on the link for each subject when you’re ready and have a go.

Please continue to send me your questions or comments on Class Dojo if you have any.

Have a great day!

Thursday 26th March 2020

Good morning, Cedar Class!

Well done for all your hard work yesterday! I hope you had fun dancing to some of the Just Dance Kids videos!

Today is: Thursday the 26th of March 2020. The short date is 26.3.20.

This is what we’re going to do today:

Phonics – Learn the next 5 words for the week. These are all words where a long vowel is followed by only one consonant, and the words all end in a ‘y’ that makes an ‘ee’ sound. When we make these words plural (more), we drop the ‘y’ and add ‘ies’. You can write your sentences on the document and turn it in when you’re finished, or you can write it on a piece of paper and send me a photo.

English - We are going to pretend to be the smaller man and write a diary entry for him. You can type your diary entry into the document and turn it in, or you can write it on a piece of paper and send me a photo.

Reading – A short comprehension test. Write the answers on a piece of paper and send me a photo if you like.

Maths – Fractions: Finding quarters. Write the answers on a piece of paper and send me a photo if you like.

Science – Today you are going to be Scientists and write about our experiment with planting seeds.

Go onto Google Classroom and click on the link for each subject when you’re ready and have a go.

Please continue to send me your questions or comments on Class Dojo if you have any.

Enjoy your day!

Tuesday 24th March 2020

Good morning, Cedar Class!

I hope you all enjoyed your tasks yesterday! I know that some of it might have been a bit tricky if you don’t have a printer at home to print out the worksheets, but you can continue to write the answers down on paper and send me your photos of the work that you’ve done. I loved seeing all the hard work that you did, and especially your beautiful Rainforest pictures inspired by Henri Rousseau!

You can write your sentences on the document and turn it in when you’re finished, or you can write it on a piece of paper and send me a photo.

English - We are going to make a summary of The Great Kapok Tree, the story we listened to yesterday. We can use our story maps to help us. You can type your summary into the document and turn it in, or you can write it on a piece of paper and send me a photo.

Reading – A short comprehension test. Write the answers on a piece of paper and send me a photo if you like.
