Digital Leaders

Meet our Digital Leaders of 2023-2024! We are thrilled to appoint our 8 Digital Leaders, who are made up of two Year 5 children and six Year 6 children. The Digital Leaders are present around the school and are available to support teachers or children with their Computing learning. The Digital Leaders are in contact with other schools and we meet for competitions. They also attend special events or take part in competitions to represent our school.

Bebras 2023

The Digital Leaders took part in Bebras 2023 in November which was our first online competition where Poverest was represented. The children found the tasks tricky but worked through each one logically and slowly. We are so proud of them all and their achievements - well done!

Digital Leaders for Sustainability

The Digital Leaders attended an online conference where the theme was Digital Leaders for Sustainability. They listened to children from other schools discuss how they use their digital devices to be more sustainable by using less paper to print resources. They also launched the Digital Leader for Sustainability badge which our Digital Leaders are taking part in.

Digital Leaders - Micro:bit challenge

Before Christmas, the Digital Leaders took part in a Micro:bit challenge where we created a Christmas decoration using a Micro:bit. The children took part in a live follow along video where we each had a Micro:bit to use. We challenged ourselves to code the tune, We Wish You a Merry Christmas into our Micro:bits!

Now Press Play Sparks

All the Digital Leaders attended Sparks training where they needed to learn how to use Now Press Play to support the use of the equipment across the school. Each Digital Leader had to show they could set up the equipment and understand how to fix any problems which may occur. They all passed the end of unit assessment and have become Now Press Play Sparks! The Digital Leaders all wear a badge to show they are a Spark and are available to support teachers when needed. Well done Sparks!
