Welcome to Beech Class.

Our class teacher is Mrs. Thakur, who is supported by Mrs.Bells and Mrs. Sharma.   

Main Topics and Trips for 2022/2023

This year, Beech Class will learn about Rocks, Forces and Magnets, Rivers, and Mountains, Crime and Punishment. You will find more information about how each topic is covered in our curriculum maps, which are at the bottom of this page. 

Our trips and visits for the year will be: Jack and the Beanstalk (pantomime), Ancient Rome (virtual workshop), River Cray, Science Museum and Tower of London.

Physical Education (PE)

Our PE days are every Monday and Thursday.  

Your child needs to come into school wearing their PE kit, which consists of a plain t-shirt, plain joggers/shorts and a plain jumper. Trainers are also allowed. Your child will stay in their PE kit for the whole day.  

Homework

Homework will be set every Friday, and will consist of a Mathletics task, TT Rockstar, set of spelling words (written or on Spelling Shed), reading and an optional homework on other subjects in the curriculum. Please return the homework on Friday so that it can be checked. 

Reading and Reading Records

We expect your child to read every day. Your child's reading record must be brought in every day to be signed. Reading is such an important part of your child's development so please prioritise this task. 

Our Class Rewards

We have many rewards in Beech Class, which consist of:

Class dojo points, good to be green cards (moves up to silver and gold), certificates, golden globe and stickers.

To earn a reward, the card on your child's name will move upward for showing us a behaviour or knowledge which is above our usual expectations.
