Attention Box Message
We all hope you had a happy Christmas and New Year. Our topic this half term is "People Who Help Us". We will be learning about the role of the Police, Fire Service, Dentist, Doctors and Nurses and the Postman. We have already looked at the book "Dear Zoo" as an introduction to animals and measure such as big as little. This week we have looked at The Police and have made fingerprints and "Wanted" posters. Next week we are concentrating on the role of the Firefighter and using the Oxford Reading Tree book " Cat in the Tree" for our literacy focus.
In maths we will be looking at measure in the forms of size, height, weight and capacity, we will also be looking at 3D shapes and money. We are also having a Multicultural Week and the whole school will be taking part in activities related to this topic and there will be a Chinese Dance Workshop on Thursday the 31st of Jaunuary to help us celebrate the Chinese New Year.
We are all looking forward to another happy and successful term and we thank you all for your continued support.
Homework will be set on a Friday and will need to be returned by the following Wednesday.
Could you also read or look at your child's book with them each evening and sign their reading record book.
All children should have a P.E. kit in school, this needs to be a white T shirt, black or blue shorts and a pair of plimsoles. Your child will also need a pair of jogging bottoms for the colder weather. Our P.E. session takes place on a Wednesday and is run by our sports coach Mr Duffin. Our focus is on apparatus.
