Trips:

We are going to be going to St Paul's Cathedral linked to our English theme of the Great Fire of London. We are also going on a cinema trip. We are carrying out local area fieldwork for Geography and art.

Our main trip this year is our overnight trip to Frylands! This is such an amazing event which we can't wait for this year!

Physical Education (PE)

Our PE days are every Monday and Wednesday

Your child needs to come into school wearing their PE kit, which consists of a plain white t-shirt or the new school coloured tops, plain joggers/shorts and a plain jumper. Trainers are also allowed. Your child will stay in their PE kit for the whole day.

Homework

Homework will be set every Friday, and will consist of 2 x Mathletics tasks, set of spelling words (written and on Spelling Shed) and the optional Pick 'n' Mix tasks linked to our foundation topics.

Mathletics and Spellings need to be completed weekly by Thursday, so it can be checked. The Pick 'n' Mix tasks can be shared with the class, if desired and will run over the term.

Reading and Reading Records

We expect your child to read every day. Your child's reading record must be brought in every day to be signed. Reading is such an important part of your child's development so please prioritise this task.

Our Class Rewards

We have many rewards in Chestnut Class, which consist of:

Class dojo points, raffle tickets given out daily with a prize every Friday, certificates every Friday, golden globes and stickers.

To earn a raffle ticket, your child will move their name onto the reward image for showing us a behaviour, effort or knowledge which is above our usual expectations.
