Your child will chose the books (with you) that they want to read from a selection every Monday, Wednesday & Friday. They can select either one or two books from the baskets on each of these days. You just need to record in their reading records the title of the books that they have read and sign to say that you have looked at the book with them. You may also write any comments about what they liked about the book, any words that they were able to read etc. Every Friday a member of staff will sign the records also to show that they have read and responded to any comments that you have made. Please record on Saturday & Sunday any additional books that you have read at home.
Your child will be given a homework task every Friday to be returned to school the following Friday. Your child will tell the class what they have done for their homework in small groups to practise their speaking and listening skills.
The tasks are openended and it is up to you what you would like to do for it e.g. Who is in your family? You might create a family tree, take photographs, draw/paint a picture, make models from playdough, write a list, draw round their hands etc it is up to you.
Our school PE kit consists of blue/black shorts, a white t-shirt/polo shirt and plimsolls. In the winter, they may wear blue/black jogging bottoms and a blue/black jumper.
Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school every day as we may do extra activities throughout the week.
